岗位职责和要求：
JOB SUMMARY

He/She will be responsible for the management and execution of Black Diamond’s product development process activities for all product categories that utilize China supplied components. He/She will be responsible for leading development tasks for specific product development projects from the design specification hand off phase (C.PA) through to the final product commercialization phase (P.PA). He/She will be expected to complete all of the required development functions in accordance with the product design objectives and within the published company development timeline, projected product costing and spending targets. In addition, He/She will work as a member of a cooperative team-based working environment. Furthermore, based on his/her experience levels, he/she may be asked to provide advice and guidance on line concepts, manufacturability, cost and supplier input during the design conceptualization phase. He/she will be expected to assume a managing role during the sampling and implementation phase, whether made in-house or out, and provide a seamless transition of the product into stable bulk manufacturing. This is a Zhuhai based position. He/She must be willing to travel throughout China to work with suppliers, contractors, and others. He/She may also attend relevant off site events as required to complete his/her job responsibilities.


ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS

He/She is authorized and responsible to perform all duties in accordance with BDEL Quality, Safety and Employee Policies and procedures:
-He/She is responsible for the management and coordination of component and finished product development and manufacturing integration from design into bulk production. This includes the oversight of all sales sample production.
-He/She is responsible for the creation, proper and timely maintenance of all required development documentation as specified by the Manager of Sourcing, Development and Design (SDD).
-He/She is authorized and responsible to provide development timeline status and task assignments through various project management delivery systems (UGS-Team center, design team meetings, etc)
-He/She is authorized and should assist in the research and sourcing of new technologies and suppliers as well as new vendor development. He/She should seamlessly provide US based Development and China based staff with any found recommendations as they relate to improved costing, enhanced quality and performance, increased process efficiency and improved delivery capability.
-He/She is authorized and responsible to identify potential resource/priority conflicts/problems and escalate them to the Manager of SDD for resolution with all internal and external customers.
-He/She is responsible for the complete transition of finalized TMP’s, controlled Mechanical Drawings and prototypes to Process Engineering and Manufacturing for bulk production in accordance to the company timeline and objectives.
-He/She is authorized to purchase and responsible for management (and reporting and tracking of) any tooling used for the development of product which can be capitalized. All proposed and actual spending for tooling must be reviewed with the Manager of SDD on a Quarterly basis. .
-This employee may be requested to follow other job-related instructions and to perform other job related duties, subject to all applicable state and federal laws.


QUALIFICATIONS

Education and Skills
-Bachelor's Degree in Mechanical Engineering, Project or Product Management is required.
-Alternative to Education qualification: A Bachelor’s degree in any discipline combined with 3-5 years of work experience in the design, development or manufacture of critical application hardware for a multi-national manufacturer.
-Basic understanding of global manufacturing enterprises combined with the leadership traits and communication skills required to excel in this environment.
-Experience with quality systems, lean manufacturing techniques, sourcing and vendor qualification, product design, costing, MRP and global logistics is desired.
-Strong leadership, collaboration and negotiation skills are required.
-Thorough knowledge of MS office tools required.

Language Skills
-Candidates must be fluently bi-lingual in English and Mandarin Chinese.

Work Experience
- Minimum of 2 years in a manufacturing based environment.
